Students in The San francisco School collaborate with other students from Spain as a way to develop their communication skills and to learn about Spanish culture. Students create videos using the app "Clips" to create a story about a “horrible day” and apply their understanding of daily routines and past tense while creating a funny story. Providing alternative ways for students to demonstrate competency and reflect on their learning using technology. Enlarge to see video link.	I use the app "EdPuzzle" to share videos that I create with embedded questions for them, In this example we are learning about Winter celebrations in Spain. They answered questions and practiced listening using videos created by my family in Spain, aligned with content area standards to maximize active learning.	Students create a digital/comic book with the app "Book Creator"to show their understanding of imperfect preterite. Using technology to personalize learning experiences that foster independent learning, creating their own cartoons and drawings and adding their voice to the story, practicing writing and speaking in the same project. Enlarge picture to see link attached.	Before moving to Online learning during Covid Lockdown, the student recorded videos reading Spanish books that shared with the Elementary kids in the school. Engaging in positive and ethical behavior when using technology, including social interactions online, making the younger kids feel connected with the older ones and setting a great example for future Spanish speakers.
Students complete several kinds of scavenger hunts (at home and on campus). This is an example of a video scavenger hunt in groups that includes advanced vocabulary and is performed completely in Spanish. They contributed constructively to project teams, assuming various roles and responsibilities to work effectively toward a common goal.
